Many people are either stuck in the past; where painful life experiences determine how they operate throughout life, or they project themselves into the future; usually worrying about one thing or another and anticipating the worst possible scenarios to come. The problem is however, that few people stay focused on the present moment, in other words, the now time. The fact of the matter is that the past is gone and the future has not, as yet, happened.
Deepak Chopra said “We must go beyond the constant clamour of the ego, beyond the tools of logic and reason, to the still, calm place within us: the realm of the soul”. Mindfulness is the skill of being in conscious awareness. It is a mental discipline achieved by bringing one’s mind or attention into the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.
